Safeguarding Policy

The welfare of the child comes before everything else, including any lesson plan or booking. A key part of keeping pupils safe is that every teacher on One2One is vetted before they teach a single session — no exceptions. Everyone who teaches or works with One2One is also expected to act on any concern about a child's safety immediately.

• Teachers cannot simply sign up — they join by invitation only and must complete a full application covering their qualifications, experience and subject specialisms.
• Identity and background-check documents are uploaded and carefully reviewed by our admin team before any approval is granted.
• A teacher's account is only activated once their application has been approved — until then they cannot be booked and cannot access any student's dashboard.
• Approved teachers agree to our safeguarding and conduct expectations as a condition of teaching, and remain subject to ongoing review — any raised concern is investigated and access can be suspended at any time.

• All tutoring happens in rooms created by us, through the link in the student's dashboard. Tutors must not move lessons to personal accounts or other platforms.
• Sessions may be recorded. Recordings are available to the student and parent for 7 days and can be reviewed by our admin team if a concern is raised.
• Messages between students, parents and tutors are kept on the platform so there is a record. Contact outside the platform is not permitted.
• Parents are welcome to be present, in the room or within earshot, for any session.
• Tutors must not share personal contact details, meet a student in person, or arrange private paid tuition with a student they met through One2One.

If you are worried about a child's safety or about anything that happened in a session, contact us straight away at info@one2one.academy or through Contact Support in your dashboard. We aim to acknowledge safeguarding concerns the same working day.

We will listen, record what you tell us, suspend the tutor's access while we look into it where appropriate, and refer the matter to the relevant authority where there is a risk of harm. You do not need proof to raise a concern.

If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency services straight away, then let us know so we can act on our side too.

We review this policy at least once a year and after any safeguarding incident, and update it whenever our practice changes.
